Summer Fun
With school out, a challenge for every family is to find fun activities for your children. Some of my families’ favorite activities include trips to the park or nature reserve, fishing trips to a nearby pond or lake and riding our bikes through our neighborhood. Be sure to remember your sunscreen, bug spray and water if you are spending long periods of time outside. And don’t forget a snack….Sister Schubert’s Rolls fit nicely in a picnic basket or backpack.

Summer is Party Time
One of my favorite things about summer is the all of the family get togethers! Whether it is a graduation party, family reunion, July Fourth celebration, or just an impromptu barbecue, I always am prepared to whip up a tasty dish. One of my favorite quick recipes is my Barbecue Pulled Pork Sandwiches. I always keep some pre-made pulled pork in the fridge and you know I always have rolls! Just warm everything up and head out the door for some fun in the sun!

Keep Your Kids Reading
My grandchildren love school but during the summer, it is a challenge to keep them interested in books. I have found a great way to keep them reading and having fun at the same time. Before we head out on vacations, we visit our local library first. We check out books about where we are going or what we will be doing. For example, if we are headed to the beach we get books about the ocean, swimming & sand castle building. If we are planning a camping trip in the woods, we look for books about forest animals, trees or campfire stories. The kids spend the travel time reading up on their destination!

Quality Summer Time
Summer is the ideal time to spend some quality time on yourself! Take a break from work and home to pamper yourself this summer. Grab some lemonade and head to the deck to spend a quiet summer evening watching the grass grow! Or take an afternoon and get your nails done. A simple manicure and some pretty polish sure can cheer a girl up! And don’t forget your sweet tooth…Sister Schubert’s Orange Rolls are a perfect citrus treat on the lazy days of summer.
